Google Maps User Survey

Category: Google Places (Maps & Local) – Mike Blumenthal – 6:32 pm

Google Maps does seem to be on the Self Improvement Plan of late. Today I noticed a survey to take:

Here is a link to an HTML file of a copy the survey: google-maps-user-happiness-survey.html

I guess Google wasn’t happy with my one person assessment of the situation. So here is your chance to have some input. Head over to Maps, login and let Google know what you are thinking. The survey is quite short with only 13 questions and is very focused on user satisfaction and experience.

Here is the one question that might motivate you to head over:

Please consider leaving a comment as your input will help me (& everyone else) better understand and learn about local.

  1. Good find Mike:

There is nothing like venting. ;) I complained about some of the things we have discussed. I left an email so that they can get back to me. I hope they do.

Its a step forward to generate the interaction with users.

  2. I wouldn’t want to stack the survey results, but did you get friends, family & dog to comment? :)

  3. I did something really dumb…I filled out the survey – on your website! Hit send and got your funny 404 error page. Mind you, I did this at about 2 in the morning last night. I groaned a bit and vowed to get back to it tomorrow, which is today, so now I have to go do this. I’m looking forward to it.

Mike, you have to stop making such convincing looking Google pages :)

  4. Shoot – it’s gone. I can’t get the survey to show up for me, Mike. Are you still seeing it? I’m disappointed.

  5. I am not sure even about the legalities of posting it here but in the spirit of journalisitc standards I wanted to display it as I thought it might disappear.

I suppose if Google can show newpaper headlines and stories, I can show one of their pages….that being said their lawyers are lot bigger than mine :)

I don’t have modern hw at home so I can really tell. when I was in the office at noon, I saw it. Did you remember to login?

  6. Hi Mike,
Yes, I logged in. I even performed a bunch of different searches to see if looking in a more metropolitan area would trigger it showing up. It seems to be gone.

  7. I was in a client’s office today and one of their employees was editing their business listing in Google Maps. I saw the link peeking over her shoulder. Just thought Miriam would like to know that it still appears….(come to think of it I should have gotten a screen shot of it).

  8. Hi Dave,
How thoughtful! Thanks for letting me know. This was awhile ago, now, but it’s nice to know this is still appearing.
