Understanding Google My Business & Local Search
Google Maps: Ask Google Tech Support?
I have been seeing this adword listing on the search Google Maps Help over the past week.
I am no AdWords expert but in Maps, there is no way to use the word Google in a business listing even if you are using a Google Site as your home page. Your listing will be flagged and move to a state of semi-permanent purgatory with the “Flagged Waiting for Content Check” message.
Does Adwords allow for the offer of Google tech support on Google products? Is this an approved service? The headline leaves the distinct impression that it is actually Google Tech Support.

Google’s new trademark policy allows for the use of trademark terms in the ad copy. If they are providing a service whereby they provide advice/support on Google products, then their use of Google in the ad copy is basically permitted. However, you are right that the way the headline reads, it gives you the impression that you are contacting Google’s tech support people, not a third party providing tech support about Google.
So this ad will probably be flagged sooner or later.
Mike
That makes sense. Thanks.
I was just thinking that Google themselves might have caused the ad to trigger for this keyword on broad match for the term “maps help” because the ad also displays on that query.
nonetheless the adtext still is giving the impression that you are contacting Google and therefor I agree with Mike Bunnel.
I was surprised by the amount of limited terms on PPC, it’s hardly free speech if you have a list of words you can’t have in your ads is it? It’s fair enough limiting the type of websites you can link to, but in my opinion it’s wrong to limit the words (barring swear words and the like of course, there’s good ground for that).
yeah cheers for that I def think that clears some things up
