Ever Wonder Why does Google show a 4.8 rating when I have all 5-star reviews?
I have gotten the question alot so I wrote an answer on the Local U Blog:

Thanks for sharing. Always wondered this. At least my 4.8 got bumped up to a 4.9 recently.
Are they counting some other or probably hidden parameters which we do not know about, some thing related with our website, user profile?
There’s worse things… I’ve had reviews online for months now, and Google doesn’t even show a rating. Maybe I’m missing something, but it seems like they just up and decide to display or not display your ratings at all based on a similarly murky metric.
