{"id":486,"date":"2008-02-21T21:20:33","date_gmt":"2008-02-22T01:20:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blumenthals.com\/blog\/2008\/02\/21\/google-maps-report-inappropriate-photo\/"},"modified":"2008-02-22T10:57:04","modified_gmt":"2008-02-22T14:57:04","slug":"google-maps-report-inappropriate-photo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blumenthals.com\/blog\/2008\/02\/21\/google-maps-report-inappropriate-photo\/","title":{"rendered":"Google Maps Upgrade: Report inappropriate photo"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>While exploring a potential new feature that would allow <a href=\"http:\/\/www.miketheinternetguy.com\/blog\/local-seo\/google-maps-to-feature-video\/#comment-23507\">video to be added<\/a> to your Local Business Record in Maps (first spotted by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.miketheinternetguy.com\">Mike The Internet Guy<\/a>) I found that Google has added an ability to report inappropriate photos for any of the following reasons:<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2This image infringes on my privacy<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2This image violates a copyright<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2This image violates a trademark<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2This image contains inappropriate content or violates policy guidelines<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2Other (please describe below)<\/p>\n<p>Google notes: &#8220;We&#8217;ll review each image to ensure that it complies with our Terms of Service and Program Policies.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/blumenthals.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/02\/reportinappropriateimage.jpg\" alt=\"reportinappropriateimage.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In a <a href=\"http:\/\/searchengineland.com\/080222-073545.php\">recent interview<\/a> with Carter Maslan, Product Director of Google Maps, he noted that the best way to combat spam was to rely on the masses for feedback.
