Mapquest User Engagement"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Google has been doing its darndest to catch Mapquest and become the most visited mapping site&#8230;seems that they have been succeeding in that, having <a href=\"http:\/\/weblogs.hitwise.com\/us-heather-hopkins\/2009\/02\/google_maps_edges_closer_to_ma_1.html\">caught up<\/a> and possibly <a href=\"http:\/\/blumenthals.com\/blog\/2009\/02\/09\/has-google-maps-surpassed-mapquest\/\">passing<\/a> Mapquest.<\/p>\n<p>If this <a href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/trends?q=Google+Maps%2C+Mapquest%2C+Map+Quest&#038;ctab=0&#038;geo=all&#038;date=all&#038;sort=0\">Google Trends Chart<\/a> is any indication, it also appears that users are actively looking for  Google Maps and that their mind share in search is growing:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/blumenthals.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/03\/trends-mapsvs-mapquest.jpg\" alt=\"trends-mapsvs-mapquest\" title=\"trends-mapsvs-mapquest\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Google has been adding a number of features that should also increase user engagement. They have added expanded Streetview, Community Edits and more.
