In October, I noted that Near Me searches<\/a>, while generally going up, had a distinct seasonal peaks in July and December. Actually more careful analysis shows those peaks to fall around the 4th of July and the week right after Christmas. \u00a0Both correspond with high travel periods.<\/p>\n

The fact that, when viewed over a shorter time \u00a0fame, it is obvious that they peak on weekends seems to confirm their most common use is likely associated with travel.<\/p>\n

However, I found this two year look back telling. It appears that folks were very interested in finding nearby early voting opportunities. Barring that they needed some psycho-active stimulation or escape.<\/p>\n
