{"id":20291,"date":"2017-02-26T12:38:05","date_gmt":"2017-02-26T16:38:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blumenthals.com\/blog\/?p=20291"},"modified":"2017-02-26T12:38:05","modified_gmt":"2017-02-26T16:38:05","slug":"google-testing-new-mobile-local-finder","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blumenthals.com\/blog\/2017\/02\/26\/google-testing-new-mobile-local-finder\/","title":{"rendered":"Google Testing New Mobile Local Finder"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Google is testing a new mobile local finder.<\/p>\n<p>The Google iPhone Search App is often a proving ground for large scale tests that precede rollouts to browser based mobile search.<\/p>\n<p>This test\/rollout is an interesting one because of its dramatic shift from the focus on the business listing to the focus on the map. \u00a0And in moving to a horizontal scroll bar at the bottom of the screen, there is a shift from a ordered rank view to one that is more egalitarian in presentation.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-20294\" src=\"http:\/\/blumenthals.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/mobile-local-finder.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"900\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This presentation is the same across both restaurants, hotels and all other listings unlike the current displays that are different in those groups.
