I am not sure when this started appearing but the summaries show granular detail about rooms, location and facilities and replace the Google review snippets that were shown previously.<\/p>\n<p>There is some irony that Google is sourcing this data from a 3rd party given that the review system <a href=\"http:\/\/blumenthals.com\/blog\/2012\/05\/30\/google-local-reviews\/\">implemented<\/a> after\u00a0the purchase of Zagat \u00a0and <a href=\"http:\/\/blumenthals.com\/blog\/2013\/05\/15\/google-local-returns-to-a-5-star-system-in-new-maps\/\">ended<\/a> after the departure of Marissa Mayer, included much the same type of extra detail.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.trustyou.com\">TrustYou<\/a>, Google&#8217;s data source for this granular data, is a reputation management product that tracks review content, helps Hotels get reviews and provides what it calls <a href=\"http:\/\/www.trustyou.com\/products\/trustyou-meta-review\">Meta-Review data<\/a>\u00a0to sites like Kayak, Trivago and Sabre.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blumenthals.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/Screen-Shot-2015-11-30-at-10.50.35-AM.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-18830\" src=\"http:\/\/blumenthals.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/Screen-Shot-2015-11-30-at-10.50.35-AM.png\" alt=\"Screen Shot 2015-11-30 at 10.50.35 AM\" width=\"487\" height=\"1051\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blumenthals.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/Screen-Shot-2015-11-30-at-10.50.35-AM.png 487w, https:\/\/blumenthals.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/Screen-Shot-2015-11-30-at-10.50.35-AM-93x200.png 93w, https:\/\/blumenthals.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/Screen-Shot-2015-11-30-at-10.50.35-AM-278x600.png 278w, https:\/\/blumenthals.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/Screen-Shot-2015-11-30-at-10.50.35-AM-474x1024.png 474w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 487px) 100vw, 487px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Google Hotel Knowledge Panel is now showing TrustYou review summaries (h\/t TC Tim Capper of Online Ownership).
