I presumed that it meant that they were now covering the top 100 metro markets instead of the top 50.<\/p>\n<p>When I saw the <a href=\"http:\/\/google-latlong.blogspot.com\/2008\/12\/double-coverage-double-fun.html\">StreetView of Devil&#8217;s Tower,<\/a> I expanded my expectation to include well known tourist stops. I didn&#8217;t expand my expectations to include the rural hinterlands of the United States, including the low density cow country of upstate Western New York and NW Pa. I was wrong!\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>They don&#8217;t cover just the <a href=\"http:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps?f=q&amp;hl=en&amp;geocode=&amp;q=Olean+NY&amp;sll=42.031386,-78.443654&amp;sspn=0.274902,0.523224&amp;ie=UTF8&amp;ll=42.064587,-78.607178&amp;spn=0.263036,0.523224&amp;z=11\">city of Olean<\/a>, a small rust belt town of 15,000 in rural upstate. The expanded Streetview <a href=\"http:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps?f=q&amp;hl=en&amp;geocode=&amp;q=Olean+NY&amp;sll=42.031386,-78.443654&amp;sspn=0.274902,0.523224&amp;ie=UTF8&amp;ll=41.95132,-78.42041&amp;spn=2.108012,4.185791&amp;z=8\">covers<\/a> \u00a0many of the small burgs on the lonely drive from Buffalo, NY to <a href=\"http:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps?f=q&amp;hl=en&amp;geocode=&amp;q=Dubois+Pa&amp;sll=41.426253,-78.730774&amp;sspn=1.062652,2.092896&amp;ie=UTF8&amp;ll=41.119711,-78.7603&amp;spn=0.266914,0.523224&amp;z=11&amp;g=Dubois+Pa&amp;iwloc=addr\">Dubois, Pa<\/a> (pronounced Dew Boyz), and many of the back roads through <a href=\"http:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps?f=q&amp;hl=en&amp;geocode=&amp;q=Allegany+State+Park&amp;sll=42.064587,-78.607178&amp;sspn=0.263036,0.523224&amp;ie=UTF8&amp;ll=42.068155,-78.785019&amp;spn=0.274743,0.523224&amp;z=11\">Allegany State Park<\/a> and into the Allegany National Forest. \u00a0My 10 minute drive into work along a rural ridge of the Allegany foothills is always a pleasure.
