What has changed?<\/p>\n<p>Commenter George <a href=\"http:\/\/blumenthals.com\/blog\/2013\/11\/19\/google-mapmaker-going-offline-for-upgrades\/comment-page-1\/#comment-703866\">noted<\/a> that that it is once again <a href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/mapmaker?iwloc=0_0&amp;fmi=0_0&amp;ll=39.875735,-86.326837&amp;spn=0.33936,0.465546&amp;z=11&amp;lyt=large_map_v3&amp;hyaw=47.968958315790985\">showing<\/a> SABs hidden addresses. Probably a bug.<\/p>\n<p>The other obvious change is that it no longer is accepting custom categories. What else have you noticed?<\/p>\n<p>Here is the <a href=\"https:\/\/productforums.google.com\/forum\/#!category-topic\/map-maker\/news-and-announcements\/t2zNsvs1h5U\">post<\/a> that Mark mentions in the comments. Not much here. But I have to believe more has changed in the plumbing and the relationship to the local database.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>New email settings<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Be the first to know what\u2019s going on in Map Maker or track your edits by checking the email preferences in the Settings menu.<\/li>\n<li>To Enable email preferences:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Click the gear icon at the top right corner on the viewport.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Select Settings from the dropdown.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">From the \u201cEmail preference\u201d section, check your preferred options.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Click Save and you\u2019re done.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>New message pop-up for disconnected segments<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Sometimes, disconnected roads are created that do not add any value to maps data. To avoid such erroneous additions, you will be prompted to confirm if the new road is actually not connected to any road segment. If you\u2019re sure that such a road exists, you can check \u201cContinue\u201d and add the road.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>Temporarily removing the duplicate option while deleting a feature<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In order to do some behind-the-scenes improvements, we have temporarily removed the option \u201c This feature is a duplicate\u201d while deleting any feature. We apologize for the inconvenience and will update you once it\u2019s back.
