Google effectively minimized the efforts of the many volunteers that staffed the forums, removed material that still is of value and was deleting information that was of historical interest (to me anyways).<\/p>\n<p>I was not able to gather them all but I wanted to make the posts I did save available for research purposes and to honor those volunteers that gave of their time to make the forums work (Barry Hunter, EHG aka Helmut, Treebles from the old timers and Linda Buquet, Nyagoslav, Jim from the new timers) I have <a href=\"http:\/\/places.blumenthals.com\/\">archived those posts<\/a> and am making them available on my website.<\/p>\n<h3><a href=\"http:\/\/places.blumenthals.com\/\">The Resurrected Posts from the Closed Google Places Forum<\/a><\/h3>\n<p>Places is constantly evolving. Many of the problems and solutions you find in these archives will be outdated. Be sure to search the <a href=\"http:\/\/groups.google.com\/a\/googleproductforums.com\/forum\/#!forum\/business\">new Google Places Forum<\/a> for the most up-to-date info.<\/p>\n<p>I was able to archive these posts with the help of <a href=\"http:\/\/uprise.nl\/\">Arjan Snaterse<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/rheme.net\/\">Charlie Loyd<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/theinternetco.net\/\">Aria Stewart<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I was disappointed when Google created a new Places forum and they decided to take down\u00a0the old Places forum and all of the posts that had accumulated.
