(potluck at 6:30 for organizers and anyone interested in lending an
idea and/or hand)

Unitarian Universalist Church
Elmwood and West Ferry
Buffalo, New York
In the heart of the Elmwood Village.

Let's celebrate the new year with energy and enthusiasm! What better
place than Elmwood Village with the laughing, stomping, swirling
dancers at the UUC!

LET"S DANCE!
But....
before we do, dance that is, the organizational team for Queen
City Contra Dancers would like to invite those who are interested and
would like to help organize the dances to come to a meeting and pot-
luck prior to this Saturday's dance. We will meet at 6:30 for dinner
and a brainstorming session. We have great ideas, and would like to
share in the fun. Please bring a dish to share, your tableware,
ideas and enthusiasm! Thanks for taking an interest!

Caller, Shawn Brenneman of Radford, VA "When I call, my goal is to
help create an atmosphere where dancers can best enjoy the music,
each other, and the dance...I enjoy working with the band to help
bring the music and dancers together."

Shawn will have the pleasure, as will we, of working with Riverbend,
three wonderful musicians
Tom Santarsiero of Buffalo
Jane Knoeck and Rebecca McCallum from Rochester and the Groovemongers.

The last time they played for our dance was the most memorable
occasion I can remember in years!

"Good, clean fun is the bottom line for contra dancing. There are
few other chances in this world to rub shoulders with a diverse group
of fun-loving individuals, and these dance marathons are alcohol-
free; the only high needed is the accelerated energy that comes out
of constant movement..."

Come join the fun, and the community of contradancing in Western New
York!

All ages and groups welcome...no partner or experience needed.
