Fiddlin's Fun Festival 2006

Please join us for a wonderful celebration of regional old-timey music.
Performances will begin at 1:00 with a grand finale -- all fiddlers
on stage -- at 5:30. Open stage will begin at 3:15 -- come early to
sign up. The JAM BY THE RIVER will run all day.
The following workshops will be offered in the Education Center.
1:45 New York State Fiddler Hall of Famer PHIL BANASZAK will be
leading a workshop on technique. This is a great opportunity for new
and experienced fiddlers to learn from a master fiddler!
2:30 Hope Grietzer will lead a KIDS JAM -- a wonderful experience for
youth of all abilities to learn the skills of group playing.
Violin maker Todd Snover O'Huigan will conclude the workshops at 3:15
with instruction on VIOLIN CARE AND MAINTENANCE.
New for this year -- A songbook and CD of Larry Downey's origninal
tunes will be on sale. We hope to see you there!

The Turtle Hill Folk Festival will be held September 8, 9, & 10
Markus Park, Honeoye Falls, NY
This 35th anniversary festival of the Golden Link Folk Singing
Society features a Golden Ring reunion, with Gordon Bok, Ed
Trickett, Joe Hickerson, and Sara Grey. Additional performers include
Kieron Means, Canadian songwriter Maria Dunn, and the Michigan trio
The Raisin Pickers. The weekend includes contemporary and traditional
folk music, dancing, workshops, campfire singing, food and craft
