I was having a lot of issues around updates not showing. This lasted for about a month, but has seemingly dissapeared again now and I am finding updates are appearing almost instantly again.

Bit of a relief as its not easy to tell clients that there listings aren't showing because of "Google" and not us ;-)

@Earl

Yes it would be interesting to look at a week of posts to see what additional problems crop up and if the relative importance changes as well as periodically looking over time at the types of problems.

My sense is that plus box problems & merging have dropped, verification & deduping have increased, erroneous map geodata has been a problem right along.

@Robert
It would be intersting to see how many of a given day's post are actually responded to. I have experienced the same where I have selected the email me button and thought that perhaps the system wasn't working as I rec'd so few.

@Miriam

It would be interesting to survey forum users about attitudes towards Google before and after a problem with Maps.

Nice breakdown, Mike. That took a lot of time, I'm sure. You'd think the higher ups @ Google would be sending you checks for doing the work they aren't doing. :D

I wonder, (though I have no inclination to spend the time to find out) if this relative percentage of problems is consistent and if the types of problems have changed over time?

For instance, I suspect that the relative amount of problems with the plus box has diminished after Google put some "fixes" to what was a consistent vexing problem in the past.

Yes, it'll be interesting to see what answers, if any, happen. I've clicked the "e-mail me when someone alswers" button on a variety of posts in the help center, and I haven't seen many answers at all.

125 posts for help a day is an amazing number when you consider the low usage of Maps, the general lack of awareness of the LBC and the relative invisibility of the Help Forum. It's indicative of a huge problem.

Mike, this was a wonderful post. You put in a lot of work on this. Much appreciated!
